TMC has won the tender of Alphen aan den Rijn to provide the city with new parking meters. Now the streets are filled with 52 shiny new Strada Touch parking meters.

TMC has recently won the tender for Alphen aan den Rijn to provide the city with new parking meters. An important part of the tender was a real life user test. For these test parking meters from different vendors were set up in the town hall of Alphen aan den Rijn for 2 weeks. The Strada Touch parking meter from TMC came out as best this test, therefore the municipality eventually chose these machines.

The 52 terminals are successfully placed on the streets and to allow users to get used to the new parking meters, again a few test terminals were placed in the town hall, where a hostess from TMC gave explanation to anyone interested.

The parking meters in Alphen aan den Rijn are so-called hybrid terminals. By day, the batteries are recharged by means of solar panels on top of the machines, and because they are connected to public lighting, at night they are powered by 230 V.

The new parking meters in Alphen aan den Rijn are linked with the National Parking Rights Database; with the installation of the new terminals, the municipality has introduced number plate parking.
