Corporate Social Responsibility

As a family business, we think in terms of generations and feel a strong responsibility for people, the environment, and society. We aim to be valuable not just for today, but especially for tomorrow— for our customers, our colleagues, and the world around us. For this reason, corporate social responsibility is a natural part of the way we work. Over the years, this commitment has become increasingly embedded in our business processes and is reflected in sustainable and circular solutions, attention to people’s well-being, and conscious choices to minimize our environmental impact.

Attention to people’s well-being at TMC is not an empty promise. We believe in fair opportunities and apply this principle both within our own organization and across the other companies that are part of Waysis, the holding company to which TMC belongs. For example, we offer internships and are a recognized training company. In doing so, we give people the chance to gain practical experience and actively invest in developing talent for the future.

Environment

    Handling the environment with care has been a fixed part of TMC’s business operations for decades. In developing our solutions, we apply principles of the circular economy, focusing on reusing components, choosing sustainable materials, energy efficiency, and extending system lifespans through software updates and modular components. Since the early 1990s, we have implemented an active waste separation policy and our environmental policy is continuously evaluated and tightened as needed. 

    The parking meters we deploy, developed by Flowbird (Arrive), combine long lifespans with minimal environmental impact and offer features such as paperless parking and solar power usage. This structural approach has led to environmental certification according to ISO 14001 and forms the basis for further collaboration with customers and partners towards a sustainable and future-proof mobility sector.

    Sustainable Procurement

    In line with the policy objectives of the national government, provinces, municipalities, and water boards, TMC has further refined its policy for sustainable procurement. In doing so, we build upon existing principles and ensure that supply and demand are matched responsibly and with a view to the future. In shaping our procurement and CSR policy, we utilize the Sustainable Procurement Guide and the Social Return Guide, among others. 

    Prestatieladder Socialer Ondernemen (PSO) certification

    TMC holds the Prestatieladder Socialer Ondernemen (PSO) certification. This independent quality mark measures and recognizes to what extent organizations practice social entrepreneurship. With this certification, we demonstrate that we make a proven contribution to the labor participation of people with a distance to the labor market, by creating employment opportunities and development chances for vulnerable groups.
